Car chase suspect jumps out of moving SUV, sprints out of crash scene near East LA
LOS ANGELES - A driver who led authorities on a chase across Los Angeles County is in handcuffs – but not before jumping out of a moving SUV and then doing an awkward Naruto run out of the scene in East Los Angeles.
SkyFOX was initially over the scene where the suspect inside a red SUV – believed to be stolen – led the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on a chase across the Lakewood area.
The chase then extended to parts of Compton, Watts and South Gate before the suspect eventually ditched the car in East LA. The SUV ended up hitting a couple of parked cars and some of the passengers inside the car chase vehicle stayed behind, where LASD ended up placing them in custody.
The driver was placed in custody shortly after the hit-and-run crash. Officials did not say if any of the passengers from the red SUV were on the run.
Officials did not say where the car may have been stolen from.
