Micky Dolenz performs live on Good Day LA + backstage interview
LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Micky Dolenz performed Friday on Good Day LA as part of our Mercury Insurance Concert Series.
Dolenz has done it all: Television, movies, theater, concerts, albums, books and even radio. His whirlwind career started when he was just 10-years-old.
In the fall of 1965, Dolenz was one of 400 applicants who responded to a trade ad that announced auditions for a new TV show about a rock band. He auditioned for "The Monkees'" TV show by playing and singing Chuck Berry's legendary rocker "Johnny B. Goode," and wound up chosen for the show along with three other actors: Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork.
Dolenz and his fellow "TV bandmates" actually went on to become a real live rock band.
The group went on to sell more than 75 million records worldwide, making them one of the biggest selling groups of all time with international hits, including "Last Train to Clarksville," "Pleasant Valley Sunday," "Daydream Believer," and "I'm a Believer."
Dolenz performed the Monkees' smash hit "Pleasant Valley Sunday" followed by, "I'm a Believer."
The artist is currently on tour with four upcoming concerts in Southern California. Click here to enter for your chance to win two tickets to see Mickey Dolenz at The Canyon!
