California is one of 30 states where the death penalty is legal, but on Election Day here in California - things could change.

Proposition 62 is a ballot initiative designed to abolish the death penalty.

A 'Yes' vote means…you want to get rid of the death penalty and replace it with life in prison, without the possibility of parole.

A 'No' vote means...you want to keep things as they are and keep the death penalty in place.

Two opposing sides joined us on Thursday morning. From the 'Yes' campaign is Gil Garcetti, the former LA County District Attorney. From the 'No' campaign is Eric Siddall, Vice-President of the LA Association of Deputy District Attorneys.

Yes on 62 means:

No on 62 means:

In California, the last execution was 1 in 2000.
