The Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center received a call Thursday morning regarding numerous dying Western Gulls on the shore. A wildlife technician, wildlife manager and three volunteers arrived at the beach and found 12 gulls mixed up with seaweed that made it "appear like the birds were washed to shore from the sea during the morning's high tide," according to Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center. Eight of the gulls were pronounced dead at the scene.
