Aida Rodriguez discusses new memoir, turning pain into laughter
LOS ANGELES - Overcoming hardship and transforming pain into laughter is what Aida Rodriguez highlights in her new memoir "Legitimate Kid."
Rodriguez wants you to remember that comedians are human too.
"I was talking about what happens at home, stays at home," Rodriguez said.
"We say ‘lo que pasa en casa se queda en casa’ and it started making me feel like I was a snitch. I started feeling, you know, like, maybe I should not have said some of these things about my parents. And then I was like– no, I did this to break those cycles and break those chains. I respect my parents. I love them. They are flawed. But I think it's important to speak our stories and this is my story."
"Legitimate Kid" is available online and in stores now.
