Body found at Port of Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES - A person died Monday of possible drowning at the Port of Los Angeles, but no foul play was suspected.
Authorities were sent to Berth 202 about 5:20 a.m. on a call for medical aid and pronounced the person dead, according to Los Angeles port police.
A resident in the area told FOX 11 that she was called by a friend around 5 a.m. to help her friend search for his dad because they believed he fell in the water but couldn't locate him.
As they were searching the water around The California Yacht Marina - Wilmington, they located the man face-down in the water.
The resident said the man used a walker and believes he might have tripped.
Information on the identity of the person was not immediately available. The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
