House fire in Fontana sparks blaze in nearby vegetation area

Firefighters were on scene of a fire burning in Fontana. 

The San Bernardino County Fire District responded to the 9500 block of Palm Ln. around noon Thursday, reporting a home was fully engulfed in flames.

The wind-driven fire threatened multiple homes in the area as well as vegetation. Strong winds were affecting progress for firefighters. 

The county fire district was reporting multiple power lines down in the area 

Video posted on Twitter showed heavy dense smoke covering the streets. 

The fire department reported one home suffered major fire damage, another home had exterior damage. Three vehicles and two RV’s also suffered major damage. 

One person was injured and treated on scene. 

The fire was contained just before 3 p.m. Thursday, according to San Bernardino County Fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
