1 injured in shooting outside bank in South Los Angeles

A person was shot Friday morning outside of a Bank of America branch in the Florence neighborhood of South Los Angeles, police said.

The shooting was reported at about 10:50 a.m. near the intersection of Gage Avenue and Avalon Boulevard. A victim was found with a gunshot wound in the abdomen, Los Angeles police said.

The person's condition was unknown.

Witnesses told police that two African-American males jumped into a gray Mercedes SUV and fled the scene eastbound on Gage Avenue.
