2 people dead after crash on Highway 33 near Ojai

OJAI, Calif. (FOX 11) - Two people were killed Friday afternoon after their vehicle flipped over into a creek as they traveled on Highway 33 just north of Ojai.

The Ventura County Fire Department says fire crews had a difficult time accessing the vehicle due to the steep and rugged terrain. Once crews got to the car, they discovered two people that had been fatally injured.

The identities of the crash victims were not immediately known. Crews are now working to recover the bodies.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
