5 alleged gang members charged in vicious attack of pregnant school teacher
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office says five gang members have been charged with the vicious stabbing and carjacking of a pregnant Beverly Hills Catholic school teacher in the Sunland area of Los Angeles on March 20.
Christian Reyes, 20, Andrew Bran, 19, Jesus Morales, 18, Christina Luna, 24, and Monica Gomez, 25, were charged with the attempted murder of Tanya Nguyen and were arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday.
All five individuals have been charged with one count of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder, carjacking, second-degree robbery, and hit-and-run driving resulting in property damage, the DA's office announced.
In the newly released dash cam video you can hear Tanya Nguyen fighting for her life as she screams 'I'm pregnant!" to her attackers stabbing her nearly a dozen times, including in the face.
As a result she lost her front teeth and suffered a punctured lung. Surveillance video captured the suspects crashing Nguyen's Kia into a parked car in another neighborhood.

Reyes was additionally charged with one count of aggravated mayhem and faces an allegation of personal use of a deadly and dangerous weapon -- a knife, officials said.
Bail for Reyes was recommended at $1.9 million and $1.4 million for the other four suspects in this case. If convicted, the L.A. District Attorney says all five suspects face a maximum sentence of life in state prison.
At about 6 p.m. on March 20, 2019, police say Tanya Nguyen parked her car outside her home when Reyes, Bran, and Morales ambushed her and robbed her. Reyes is accused of stabbing the victim several times before the men drove away in the victim's car, crashing into parked vehicles as they left the crime scene.
Luna and Gomez were nearby in a getaway car, prosecutors said.
A GoFundMe account has been set up on behalf of Tanya and her family to help cover medical and recovery costs. https://www.gofundme.com/tanya-n.
