Beverly Hills youth soccer referee calls it quits, fed up with parents' bad behavior

Anyone who's had a kid in youth soccer knows the sidelines can get kind of raucous. The eventual bad behavior of parents was enough for a local referee administrator to call it quits.

Fresh air and exercise. What's not to like about youth soccer? Plenty says, Avery Krut.

For five years, he's volunteered to be the referee administrator for the Beverly Hills region.
But after yet another run-in with an overzealous parent, he wrote an email to resign his post which included lines such as "I have come to despise so many of you and I hold so many of you in contempt. "

Krut has refereed all over Southern California but he says the behavior of the parents on the west side of L.A. prompted this line: "I can no longer be involved with so many people who feel so entitled."

The regional coordinator refused on-camera comment but sent a statement which reads in part, "While we respect and appreciate all the years he has given to our region, the views stated in his email are his personal opinions and do not represent the Beverly Hills Region 76 Board.

There was also no comment from two AYSO coaches who arrived for a local girls practice.
