Delta plane forced to return to LAX after being struck by lightning

Delta Airlines Flight 2432 from Los Angeles International Airport to Seattle was reportedly struck by lightning Tuesday night.

The plane safely returned to LAX to be inspected but no emergency was declared and no injuries were reported, according to Charles Pannunzio of Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that operated the airport.

LAX officials say they are not aware of the lightning causing delays for arriving or departing flights.
