LA Public Library takes on Houston Library in epic book battle
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Los Angeles and Houston public libraries have been taking each other on in an epic literary battle on social media as the Dodgers play the Astros in the World Series.
The so-called 'Book Spine Poetry Trash Talk' started last week when the LA Public Library posted a photo to Instagram on the day of Game 1 showing a stack of library books titled: 'Game On,' 'Astro Bunnies,' 'You Got This' and 'Dodgers.'
The caption read: "With the @dodgers in the #WorldSeries we had to continue the public library tradition of book spine poetry trash talk."
Then, after the Dodgers won Game 1, the Houston Public Library responded with a picture of a stack of books titled: 'Houston Astros,' 'Bouncing Back,' 'See You in the Cosmos' and 'Los Angeles.'
The back and forth has continued on Instagram over the past week with each library account posting a photo of a book stack following each game.
After last night's game that forced a Game 7, the LA Public Library posted a photo with the titles: 'One to Go,' 'Anticipation, 'Angelenos,' 'The Last Nine Innings' and 'On the Edge of Your Seat.'
Couldn't have said it better ourselves.
