Neglected pit bull found tied up in Mount Baldy

A 4-year-old pit bull was found abandoned and tied to a pole along a road in Mount Baldy on New Year's Eve.

The Inland Valley Humane Society and SPCA posted a photo of the dog on their website and social media pages.

They said a call came in on Sunday afternoon about the dog and an officer went and rescued the male pup. Officials say the dog was also suffering from injuries consistent with neglect and it is unknown how long he was tied up.

The pit bull was taken for emergency care and then transferred to the Inland Valley Humane Society where he is currently being treated and will remain pending an investigation.

Staff workers at the Humane Society have named the dog, 'Chance.'

Anyone with information regarding Chance is urged to call the Inland Valley Humane Society's investigative department at (909) 623-9777.
