Bicyclist killed in South LA vehicle crash identified
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A bicyclist was killed in a car crash in the area of 82nd Street at Broadway in South Los Angeles Monday night.
The bicyclist was identified as 54-year-old Los Angeles resident James Findley. His family held a vigil on Tuesday at the intersection where he was killed.
Los Angeles police believe there may have been an illegal street race happening that resulted in the crash. They continue searching for a driver who may have been involved in Findley's death.
Another driver who may have been involved in the street race at the time of the crash stayed at the scene and was taken into custody by police for questioning, according to LAPD.
Several cars that were parked on the street were also hit during the incident.
Authorities did not release any suspect or vehicle descriptions asked anyone with information on the case to call LAPD at 877-527-3247.
