Plane Crash in La Verne kill man, injures woman

LA VERNE (FOX 11) - A plane crash in La Verne killed a passenger and injured the pilot Sunday night.

A Cessna plane missed the runway and crashed near Brackett Field Airport at about 6 p.m., according to La Verne police.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot was practicing landings and takeoffs at the airport before the aircraft crashed into a nearby large nursery with tall trees, which firefighters said made it tough to find and reach the wreckage.

The pilot was a woman, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The passenger killed was a man, whose name was not released.
