Police pursuit ends with crash in Torrance

TORRANCE, Calif. (FOX 11) - A pursuit Monday night ended in a crash in the city of Torrance near the area of Merrill Drive and Carson Street.

Firefighters were called to the scene after the suspect vehicle reportedly burst into flames next to a residential building following the crash.

Torrance police were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle earlier. One suspect has been taken into custody. It's unknown if anyone was injured but one ambulance was seen leaving the area.

The immediate area was immediately closed with at least one block shut down on Carson Street in each direction.

No further details were immediately known. The investigation is ongoing. Emergency crews and law enforcement remain on scene.
