Small fire breaks out on float at 130th annual Rose Parade
PASADENA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A small fire broke out on a float Tuesday during the 130th annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, but was quickly extinguished.
The Chinese American Heritage Foundation's float was disabled by a small fire near the intersection of
Orange Grove Boulevard and West Green Street, officials said.
"Small fire on float at Orange Grove and Green. Quickly extinguished. Float being towed. Smell of smoke in area," the City of Pasadena posted on Twitter.
The parade features flower-covered floats, equestrian groups and marching bands. Among them are bands from Ohio State University and the University of Washington, whose teams are competing in Tuesday's Rose Bowl.
The theme of the 2019 parade is "The Melody of Life."
