Small plane crashes near California State Prison Facility in Norco
NORCO, Calif. (FOX 11) - A single-engine plane crashed Monday inside the grounds of the California Rehabilitation Center on Fifth Street in Norco, triggering a fire, but no prisoners or staff were reported to be injured.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the Northrop N9M aircraft crashed around 12:15 p.m.
There was no immediate word on the condition of the pilot.
Riverside County Fire Department and corrections personnel were fighting the fire at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. NTSB and the NTSB will be conducting the investigation into the plane crash.
