Tense stand-off between police and armed robbery suspect at Marina Del Rey apt building

(FOX 11/CNS) - Police are looking for an armed robbery suspect who led them on a chase in the Marina del Rey area before bailing out of his vehicle and running into an apartment building on Thursday afternoon.

The pursuit began about 1:25 pm when an air unit spotted the suspect's S-U-V in the area of Mindanao Way and Lincoln Boulevard.

The suspect made his way onto the Marina Freeway into the Culver City area before circling back to the marina and bailing out of the vehicle in the 13900 block of Panay Way and ran into an apartment complex.

With a SWAT team and police dogs poised to enter the building about 7:15 p.m., the suspect surrendered without further incident

No details about the crime that prompted the chase were immediately available.
