Vehicle crash reportedly ignites brush fire in Angeles National Forest

Firefighters were able to put out a fire that broke out in the Angeles National Forest Monday evening following a traffic collision.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the area of Glendora Ridge Road and Glendora Mountain Road. A vehicle reportedly went over the side of the road. The driver was the only person inside the car at the time of the crash and was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The crash sparked a fire which then spread to nearby brush igniting a brush fire that scorched approximately one acre before fire crews were able to get a good handle on it with an aggressive ground and air attack.

The cause of the crash and fire are under investigation.
