Woman's body found down embankment in Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS, Calif. (FOX 11) - Deputies are investigating after a woman's body was found Tuesday off the side of a roadway down an embankment in Cajon Pass.

Cajon Pass is a mountain pass between the San Bernardino Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County.

Around 10 a.m. deputies received a report about a possible deceased person in the area of Lone Pine Canyon Road East of State Hwy 138. When deputies arrived they found the body of a deceased woman.

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division responded and are conducting a death investigation.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are still working to positively identify the victim.
