Multi-car crash injures several people; shears fire hydrant creating geyser
PICO RIVERA, Calif. - A multi-car crash in Pico Rivera ends up with a hydrant getting sheared sending gallons of water shooting straight into the air Thursday night.
The collision involved three cars and happened in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Rosemead Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

One of the vehicles overturned. One person was trapped and had to be extricated and taken to the hospital, fire officials said. Their condition is unknown. Two others suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The collision shut down the streets in the immediate area. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
