Innocent driver killed during high-speed pursuit in South LA

An innocent person was killed during a multi-vehicle collision following a high-speed pursuit near the 105 Freeway in South LA.

A bystander was killed in a multi-vehicle collision following a high-speed chase involving teenagers South Los Angeles. 

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were pursuing a Kia SUV sedan that was reportedly driving recklessly. The Kia crashed into a red vehicle just before 3:15 p.m. Thursday at the westbound 105 Freeway exit near Central Avenue.

Images from SkyFOX show at least four vehicles involved in the crash. The person who died has been identified as 37-year-old Alexis Covarrubias, who was driving the red vehicle. It is not known if other injuries were reported. 

According to reports from the scene, the suspects where 14 and 15 years old. One of them was driving the vehicle during the pursuit. Both were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not known.
