1 killed in deputy-involved shooting in Stanton

STANTON, Calif. - The Orange County Sheriff’s Office were investigating a fatal deputy-involved shooting in Stanton on Wednesday night. 

Officers were called to the 10000 block of Sycamore Avenue located near Beach Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. regarding a family disturbance.

A shooting involving the deputies occurred inside the home and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene -- a Hispanic man in his 50s, the Sheriff's Department said. His identity has not been released.

Investigators did disclose further information about the incident, including what the circumstances were that led up to the shooting.

No deputies were hurt and there is no threat to the public, the Sheriff's Department said.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office will be handling the investigation.
