1 person killed in Maywood shooting, another injured

MAYWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11) - Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in the 5900 block of Flora Avenue in Maywood Monday afternoon.

One Hispanic man was killed and another injured in the incident. Both men were taken to the hospital where one was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.

The fatal shooting occurred just after 3:30 p.m. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says the deceased victim suffered at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso while the second victim received multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. That person is in stable condition and expected to survive, authorities said.

There are no reported arrests at this time and no suspect description available. No further details were immediately known.
