2 injured in fire at Van Nuys apartment building

A fire at an apartment building Wednesday in the Van Nuys area left two people injured.

Firefighters sent to the 7400 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard about 10:10 a.m. extinguished the flames in about 20 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

A man in his mid-40s suffered burns, and another person suffered smoke inhalation, the LAFD reported. Both were taken to a hospital, but the severity of their injuries was not immediately known.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
