$1.22 billion lottery ticket sold in California

Someone in California may have just become a billionaire as Mega Millions' jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Cottonwood, an area about an hour's drive north of Chico.

Feeling lucky? As California awaits the identity of the $1.22 billion jackpot winner, two other lotto winners may be $787,000 richer.

According to California Lottery's website late Friday night, a ticket worth $787,543 was sold at the Cardenas Market on East Highland Avenue in San Bernardino. A second ticket of the same value was sold at a Chevron on Blue Oaks Boulevard in Roseville.

The news comes as Mega Millions held a drawing for the then-top prize of $1.22 billion.

Below were the winning numbers for the Dec. 27 drawing, which apparently someone in Cottonwood, California got:

Now that the winning tickets have been sold, Mega Millions' jackpot will reset to $20 million for the upcoming drawing, which will be held on Tuesday, December 31 at 8 p.m. PT.
