GLENDALE, Calif. - An attempted bank robbery at Bank of America in Glendale drew a heavy police presence Tuesday afternoon.
Two people have been detained. Teams of police officers were seen clearing out the bank of employees and customers searching for additional suspects.
Authorities say one of the individuals taken into custody entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. It's unknown if any money was given to the suspects and if weapons were used in this incident.
The attempted bank robbery occurred at about 4:05 p.m. at the branch located at San Fernando Road and W. Cerritos Avenue. The suspects have not been identified.
Glendale police say one of the suspects left a backpack inside and officers are currently working to determine the contents of that backpack to ensure the safety of the public.
No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
