2 senior citizens dead at Yucaipa nursing home while 51 residents, 6 staff members test positive for COVID-19
YUCAIPA, Calif. - Fifty-one residents and six staff members at Cedar Mountain Post Acute Rehabilitation have tested positive for COVID-19, in an outbreak at the Yucaipa nursing home that has led to the deaths of two residents, San Bernardino County public health officials announced on Tuesday.

The people of Yucaipa wait for the other shoe to drop. Today the stunned residents of this retirement community ten miles east of San Bernardino received terrible news. 51 residents and six staff members at the Cedar Mountain nursing home have tested positive for COVID-19. And worse, two residents have died.

The county health commissioner braced the community for even more bad news -- to assume that everyone working or living in the 99-bed facility also is infected.
There is also worry about the potential outbreak at another nursing home in nearby Mentone. Health officials not saying too much about that, pending some test results.
