2 workers rescued after becoming trapped in a trench under concrete

LOS ANGELES - Two workers were rescued from a trench under a section of concrete after becoming trapped Tuesday afternoon.
Los Angeles firefighters responded to the 5300 block of N. Tyrone Avenue in Sherman Oaks at about 3 p.m.
One of the rescued workers was taken to the hospital in fair condition after suffering moderate injuries, according to the L.A. Fire Department. The second worker was taken to a local trauma center in critical condition.

Neither of the two workers have been identified.
No further details were immediately known. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
