3.0-magnitude quake centered near Lake Elsinore strikes on Halloween morning
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. - A preliminary 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Lake Elsinore early Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The small quake with a depth of nearly 6 miles was reported at 2:44 a.m. about 6 miles from Lake Elsinore and 23 miles from Corona.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged, the Murrieta Police Department said.
The small tremblor comes as firefighters continue to battle multiple fires that have erupted across Southland.
