5-year-old boy discharged from hospital after being shot in La Puente

A little boy was discharged from a local hospital after he was shot in La Puente the night of Jan. 13.

A 5-year-old boy was released from the hospital after he was shot in La Puente on Wednesday evening, officials said. 

The shooting occured just after 9 p.m. in the 14200 block of Nelson Avenue, near Sunkist Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators said the young boy was standing in front of a home when someone opened fire from a car.

Shooting in La Puente wounds 5-year-old child

The suspects were driving a newer model Nissan Maxima and remain at large, authorities said. 

The young victim was discharged from a local hospital and his wound was described as non-life-threatening.
