8 injured following collision involving school bus in Lake Elsinore
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. - Several people were injured following a collision in Lake Elsinore.
According to Cal Fire Riverside around 7:30 a.m. a school bus and a van collided into each other in the 400 block of Morro Wy. According to a sergeant with the California Highway Patrol Temecula area the van failed to make a complete stop at the stop sign.
One person inside the van was trapped and had to be extricated. CHP says the driver of the van and a 5-year-old girl, sitting next to the driver, were both unrestrained and sustained critical injuries.
Eight people were transported to the hospital. Cal Fire officials say seven students were uninjured and released to the school district.
