LOS ANGELES - All hiking trails in Los Angeles County will close in order to reinforce the need for social distancing as the county combats the coronavirus.
The county announced the amendment to last week's "Safer at Home" order in a Tweet Monday afternoon.
"You may walk/run in your neighborhood for fresh air and exercise," the county wrote.

County officials reminded the public that social distancing requires you to stay at least six feet away from others when you leave your home.
The decision comes after residents flocked to the trails and numerous residents failed to maintain the proper six feet between themselves and others over the weekend.

In addition to closing hiking trails, over the weekend the county revised the "Safer at Home" order to ban all public and private gatherings and close all malls, playgrounds and all other “non-essential” businesses like golf courses, barbershops and nail salons.
