Amoeba Records sells building, not closing yet
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11) - Amoeba Music has sold its building, but fans don't need to worry-- the record store isn't going anywhere yet.
News spread online that the large record store would be shuttering after the owners sold the building for $34 million to an architecture firm with apparent plans to build a high-end residential building with a rooftop pool.
However, Amoeba Music put out a statement on Twitter assuring vinyl fans that the store will stay put for the duration of its lease, which is several years. The statement also said that Amoeba and the building owner are open to potentially staying longer.
Fans talked about their love for the iconic store on Sunset Blvd.
