Another snowstorm in SoCal threatens Grapevine closure

Motorists are asked to exercise caution as they travel through the Grapevine as fresh show and another winter storm threatened a second closure of the 5 Freeway in less than a week.

According to the National Weather Service, the Pacific winter storm is expected to roll in Monday night and last through Tuesday morning. It is forecast to bring heavy snow of four to eight inches at snow levels as low as 2,500 to 3,000 feet.

Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol was conducting escorts on the 5 Freeway due to snow.

A winter storm watch was in effect through Monday afternoon, according to the NWS.
