Areana hopes for a loving home...and all that jazz!
As we usher in another summer with all the sights and sounds that accompany the season, listen for this week's Wednesday's Child -- Areana (2001) - who joined in for a jam session with some LA jazz greats!
Areana is a multi-talented youth who is active in extracurricular activities at school and currently plays in her high school marching and jazz bands. Recently Areana was invited to visit Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill, Jazz, Etc., where she met and played with legendary musicians Pat Senatore and Ron Stout.
It can be a little intimidating to be on a big stage with professional jazz musicians, but Pat and Ron took Areana under their wings and provided performance tips. Areana is a thoughtful and contemplative youth who often journals. Areana tells us that her music is important and personal for her because it is the only thing that she ever felt was truly hers. As for college considerations, Areana wants to be an "Illini" (from the University of Illinois) where she might want to study biology and - of course - play for the Big Ten, Division One School's marching band!
As Areana's afternoon of musical coaching from Pat and Ron played out, an almost magical gelling of hearts, minds and souls seemed to take place and a temporary jazz trio formed. We're looking for a similar kind of magical gelling in our pursuit to find a forever family for Areana. Finding harmony with Areana will be key, but notes of unconditional love and support are the sounds we're looking for in prospective adoptive families.
Tune in to Wednesday's Child to see and hear more of Areana's afternoon of all that jazz.
