Previewing late Saturday night rain, Sunday winds

Meteorologist Jonathan Novack previews the last of the rain for Saturday night, as well as the strong winds expected to sweep through Southern California Sunday.

The rain has returned to Southern California this weekend with possible strong winds expected to sweep through the region Sunday.

Parts of Ventura County, particularly the western part of the county, was under a 10-20% chance of seeing thunderstorms Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Los Angeles County is expected to see rain once again Saturday afternoon with a potential for brief heavy downpours, NWS said in its morning forecast.

As for Sunday, gusty conditions will be the main concern as moderate-to-strong winds are expected to sweep through Southern California. In fact, parts of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties will be under high wind watches for the entirety of Sunday, November 19.

Last of the rain moving into LA, Ventura counties

Don't let your guard down just yet! The last of the rain is moving into parts of Southern California later Saturday evening.

The gusty Santa Ana winds are expected to move into the region Monday, according to NWS. As for Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures are expected to pick back up after a soggy and windy weekend.
