Man found stabbed to death in Marina del Rey
MARINA DEL REY, Calif. - A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found stabbed to death in Marina del Rey Tuesday morning.
The body of Costa Karras, believed to have been in his 40s, was discovered just after 6:30 a.m. on a popular walking and biking trail between two homes near the 600 block of Washington Boulevard.
Karras was pronounced dead at the scene. LAPD said he suffered multiple stab wounds from an incident that occurred sometime before 6 a.m.
Investigators are now going door-to-door looking for surveillance video or any witnesses who might have seen something.
Karras' cause of death will be determined by the coroner's office.
People in the area say they are not surprised by this. One woman told FOX 11 that she carries pepper spray with her and another man showed us he is packing much more heat for his daily walk.
"Carrying a non-lethal launcher, legal in 50 states. Designed not to kill someone but subdue them if they try to attack you," the man said.
No information on arrests or suspects was immediately available.
