Body washes ashore in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Authorities in Long Beach are investigating a body that washed up near Ocean Boulevard and 55th Place in the Alamitos Peninsula Wednesday evening.
Long Beach police say they don't believe foul play is involved. The discovery of the body was reported by a lifeguard on duty at the time shortly before 6 p.m.
Investigators are working to determine the identity of the deceased. Their age and gender were not immediately known.
The Long Beach Fire Department says the body matched the description of a missing person out of Orange County.
Authorities did not immediately release additional details on this ongoing investigation.
