Brush fire sparks after pursuit ends in fiery crash in Moreno Valley
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (FOX 11) - A brush fire was sparked after two vehicles involved in a pursuit caught on fire in Moreno Valley.
Around 4 p.m. deputies located a stolen vehicle and a chase ensued. The pursuit ended in a residential area near Grant St. and Bay Ave.
Two vehicles, including a police cruiser caught on fire. Two suspects have been arrested following the chase.
According to Cal Fire- Riverside two single-family dwellings sustained severe damage, three outbuildings were destroyed and nine vehicles were severely damaged, some were destroyed. The 5 acre fire was contained around 6:30 p.m. Firefighters say they were able to save 80 homes from the fire.
An evacuation center was set at Towngate Elementary on 22480 Dracaea Ave. for anyone affected by the fire.
