Bulletproof backpack sales rise in wake of Florida school shooting
Parents are doing their part to protect their kids following last week's deadly school shooting in Florida.
Bag maker 'Bullet Blocker' reported a 30 percent jump in sales on bulletproof backpacks since the horrific events in Parkland.
The company sold over 500 bags during that period, with a majority of them heading to the Sunshine State.
The backpacks are built with Kevlar, which is the same material used in bulletproof vests worn by law enforcement.
They weigh about four-and-a-half pounds and prices typically range between $200 and $500.
