Celebrating National Nurses Week

It's National Nurses Week and today we honor all the nurses who work so hard to make their patients feel better. Through the years, a lot has changed in the nursing field, but one thing remains. To be a good nurse, you must be compassionate.

Valerie Payne has been a nurse for 47 years.

She says, "We don't just take care of the patients, we take care of their families. We treat them with dignity and we treat them with compassion. We just try to make this, the best possible experience they can have." Yvonne Printers has been a nurse for 27 years.

She says nursing has taught her something important, "It teaches me how to be a loving person. How to be a caring person. How to meet the needs of people who may be a little bit different in their beliefs and background and it just shows me how universally, we're all the same, really."
