Chino police sergeant arrested in human trafficking investigation involving 16-year-old girl
CHINO, Calif. (FOX 11) - A human trafficking investigation in Northern California led to the arrest of a Chino police officer on suspicion of soliciting prostitution and having sex with a minor.
Sgt. Jason Bemowski, a 16-year veteran of the Chino Police Department, was arrested around 7 a.m. Thursday for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl while off duty at a residence in Redlands, according to police.
The Roseville Police Department said 24-year-old Anthony Harrison was also arrested on suspicion of pimping and human trafficking and is being held at the South Placer jail on a $1 million bail.
The investigation is an ongoing collaboration between the Roseville Police Department and the Redlands Police Department. The Chino Police Department is cooperating fully with the agencies involved in the investigation, authorities said in a statement.
Bemowski was placed on paid administrative leave pending criminal and administrative investigations, Chino police said.
