CARSON, Calif. - Free coronavirus testing is now available for all Carson residents, even for those who are asymptomatic, officials said.
The testing initiative was made possible due to a partnership between the city and UsHealthFairs.org.
Carson Mayor Albert Robles and the Carson City Council voted unanimously (5-0) to approve testing for all City of Carson employees, residents, and anyone who schedules an appointment.

Insurance companies are to reimburse clinics for the cost of test and lab results. MediCal will cover COVID-19 tests for the uninsured, city officials said.
Testing appointments can be made online. The application takes about ten minutes to complete.
Those who want to make an appointment will need to do the following.
• Upload a photo of your medical insurance card (front and back)
• Upload a photo of your driver license of State ID
• Confirm your social security number when prompted
• Provide a valid personal email address, mobile and alternate phone number
• Provide an emergency contact’s name and number
A confirmation email will be sent to your personal email address upon completing the application.
Starting April 27, testing will be administered from residents’ vehicles between Monday to Friday on the east side of the Carson Community Center. City employees have designated testing hours from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and residents can be tested from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
An appointment is required.

Samples will be processed ab FDA-approved LabCorp and Fulgent Genetics Clinical Library. The results will be given privately by the lab and/or medical staff, officials said.
Those who test COVID-19 positive will be logged and transmitted to the LA County Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
