Community rallies around Seal Beach donut shop owner amid health crisis

The Seal Beach community is rallying around a donut shop owner amid their family's health crisis.

For three decades, John and Stella Chhan have been serving donuts in the community at Donut City on Pacific Coast Highway.

Stella recently suffered a brain aneurysm and is recovering at a nursing home.

When customers learned of Stella's situation, they decided they needed to do something to help.

After spreading the word on social media, customers began lining up early each day to buy as many donuts as possible so that John can finish work early and visit his wife during her recovery.

Amid the outpouring of support, a humbled John tells FOX 11 he "appreciates it very much" and that Stella seems to be "doing better."

Donut City is located at 1210 Pacific Coast Highway in Seal Beach.
