Crews knock down 70-acre fire near Sepulveda Basin seen throughout San Fernando Valley
VAN NUYS, Calif. - Firefighters Saturday extinguished a 70-acre vegetation fire that broke out near the Sepulveda Basin.
The fire broke out near Woodley and Burbank Blvd. Saturday just after 3:05 p.m. It was burning near the model-plane air park area. At least 63 firefighters were assigned to knock down the blaze.
The fire was knocked down by 4:25 p.m.
The Los Angeles Fire Department initially said one acre was burning with light winds. Flames could be seen throughout neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
