Dennis Quaid urges LA Mayor Bass to resign
LOS ANGELES - In a new viral interview with Piers Morgan, actor Dennis Quaid revealed that he knows at least 100 people who lost their homes in the Palisades Fire, including a friend who lost three multi-million dollar properties.
Quaid evacuated and his own Brentwood home was spared, but he said it's time to take a closer look at LA Mayor Karen Bass and the insurance industry.
"A year, year, and a half ago, the insurance AIG pulled out. That was my insurance company at the time of California, and it became almost impossible to get fire insurance. There's people out there that have just lost everything, and the insurance companies - they're all about probability. And the worst case scenarios happen. And because they can happen, the worst case scenario."
"Mayor Bass had five days warning about what could be record Santa Ana winds, and she chose to go to Ghana anyway. And when she came back, there's that video that went viral of this guy getting off the plane and that reporter. Yes, maybe she was ambushed or whatever, but to just say nothing in that interview? You've got to hit the ground running there."

"There was no evacuation plan. That makes me wonder about the next earthquake, the next mudslides that are going to happen. I'm really in favor of a recall. I think it's that important to not wait for the next election. Who would you rather rebuild the Palisades? Mayor Bass - who had all this warning or Rick Caruso, who built the Grove? He built the Palisades Village, which is 99% intact."
Quaid also urged Californians to set aside partisan differences and work together for the good of the state in the country and emphasized the power of prayer.
But in terms of LA Mayor Bass, there's a big headline from the LA Times that Mayor Bass was at a cocktail party at the Ghana embassy when the fires first came out.
Quaid brought up the Change.org petition urging the resignation of Bass that has been circulating now with more than 140,000 signatures.
Bass has turned down FOX 11's requests to do a one on one interview and answer some of these charges in depth in her own words.
