Supervisor Lindsey Horvath joins Hal to talk about the area of the third district which were destroyed in the fire, and how she is attempting to aid her constituents in their recovery.
LOS ANGELES - In segments one and two, Supervisor Lindsey Horvath joins Hal to talk about the area of the third district which were destroyed in the fire, and how she is attempting to aid her constituents in their recovery.
Topics range from preparing for potential storm damage to the removal of toxic debris, reopening local roads and creating a stronger water infrastructure to help the region survive climate change and drought, and make it more resilient.
Joining Hal in segment three is Elizabeth Oreck, the Senior Manager of Community Engagement with Best Friends Animal Society. She discusses the role of Best Friends in assisting people with lost and evacuated pets, and working with fosters to find temporary homes. They recently flew dozens of animals from their shelter to Utah to make room for those displaced animals.
Oreck also discusses what to do if you ever have to evacuate with your pet, and how to make the event less stressful and more efficient.
